Stopping people at the Bowl dropping litter is probably a losing battle, though mounted police may have been of use if anything had kicked off (it was a good-natured event, but when you cram 65000 people into that small a space things can still happen).

I did like what they did inside the Bowl in that they had a 10p deposit on the drinks cups, which meant that people collected them up and returned them. A good German-style initiative, and definitely to be encouraged.
